INJUSTICE- Chapter 4: roller coaster continues
by David ET on Jan.29, 2007, under Uncategorized
According to the International Committee Against Executions, the prison officials denial of Nazanin’s freedom at 8:00PM Sunday was due to an open case against her by the officials of her previous prison. Apparently while imprisoned there, Nazanin had openly argued and objected to the prison officials’ inhumane treatment of the prisoners.
I salute Nazanin for having had the courage to stand up for her and others rights. This is not the first time that she is being punished by the so called Islamic regime of Iran for defending her and others rights. Last time they sentenced her to death for defending herself and her 15 year old niece in a rape attempt!!
It is so outrageous that after imprisoning Nazanin for more than 2 years for an “unintentional” act of “self-defense” - as voted by 5 re-trial judges- and after having her experince the psychological torture of a death sentence, the regime in Iran still has the audacity to have more claims against this innocent 19 year old girl.
If anyone should have claims, that is Nazanin Fatehi and in the International Court of Geneva for the violations of her human rights, especially as a minor, and if anyone has to pay any retribution, is the Islamic regime in Iran.
Meanwhile, we will continue to exercise logic and patience in dealing with a government that claims to have a God given, moral and religious superiority over its citizens (and the world) but it repeatedly violates its citizens rights.
Nazanin will be free, we will make sure of that. That is OUR promise. May this become a lesson for this and other regimes who violate their citizens’ legal and human rights.

If all goes well Nazanin will be FREE tomorrow!! :-)

by David ET on Jan.25, 2007, under Uncategorized
Delara Darabi ecently attempted to kill herself at Tehran’s Evin prison, but luckily she was quickly sent to a hospital and
the doctors managed to save her life. She is now outside mortal danger (well, not exactly true, since she is awaiting execution). Her mother told the Tehran daily Etemaad that Delara is clinically depressed and only weighs 35 kilos. Once we raise 400 million Rials (approx $45,000 USD), Nazanin Fatehi will be free from prison and reunited with her family. We have raised $29,023.70 USD so far in online donations and $1,000 USD in cheques sent to the PO Box in Ottawa for the Nazanin Fatehi Trust Fund. Mr. Mostafaei, Nazanin’s lawyer said that fundraisers in Iran have promised fifty million Rials ($5,000 USD). The GRAND TOTAL so far is $35,023 USD.

I have returned to sobriety
I am neither a Moslem nor a Hindu
I am not Christian, Zoroastrian, nor Jew
I am neither of the West nor the East
Not of the ocean, nor an earthly beast
I am neither a natural wonder
Nor from the stars yonder
….
Not of ancient promises, nor of future prophecy
Not of hellish anguish, nor of paradisic ecstasy
Neither the progeny of Adam, nor Eve
Nor of the world of heavenly make-believe
….
I eliminated duality with joyous laughter
Saw the unity of here and the hereafter
Unity is what I sing, unity is what I speak
Unity is what I know, unity is what I seek”
***
“Come, Come who or whatever you are
Should you be an unbeliever, a Magian or a pagan still come
Our lodge is not a lodge of despair
With hundred repentions unheeded you may be,still, come”
