picture of an Iranian women in a demonstration
Yesterday, Fatemeh Alia , head of women’s fraction of parliament of Iran’s Islamic regime in her speech requested restricter control of women dressing. In her speech she said :” roots of many of social violence and harrasments is in the women themselves. Women with their own clothing show if they want to be harrassed and harmed or not“. !!!
I am not sure which women Ms. Alia associates with but I have not met any normal woman (or human being for that matter) who wants to be harrassed, harmed or be subjected to violence. Blaming women for being the cause of rapes, violence etc. is nothing new in the thinking of Islmic regime who wants to blame women so that men in the male dominant society that they have created do not assume responsibility for their actions. In my view her second sentence is nothing but an indirect ultimatum to Iranian women that they must adhere to the forced clothing or they will be harmed!!! As old as 2500 years ago Iranian women had roles such as ruler of the persian empire, heads of army, musicians, artists, etc and it is obvious that the Ms. Alia is not a true representative of Iranian women’s sentiment.
That is the same mentality that initially held Nazanin Fatehi responsible for the rape attempt to the extent that the first verdicts were death sentence for excercising her right to self defense. It was only after international pressure and publicity that the regime’s judiciary eventually shifted the responsibility to the rapist for the “harm, harrasment and violence” that he has caused and not the victim.

Support PEOPLE and stay OUT
by David ET on Feb.27, 2007, under Uncategorized
1953: Support of Coup to overthrow the elected popular Iranian prime minister Mosadgeh.
(result US apology 40 years later………)
1960-1970’s: CIA Support and training of Shah’s SAVAK which was responsible for tortures and killing of Iranians.
(US regrets as it all ended in Islamic revolution later……..)
2007: Promoting regional instabilities in Iran. Preparing for military intervension.
(result: Islamic regime gaining support, death and suffering……..)
When will US foreign policy makers learn from the cosequences of their mistakes and stop intervention in Iran, instead of supporting and trusting the struggles of Iranians for a democratic nation?!
10.3 million Iranians under poverty line
by David ET on Feb.26, 2007, under Uncategorized
According to Faemeh Alia, the head of women’s fraction of Parliament of Islamic regime in Iran, there are approximately 10.3 million Iranian under the poverty line and in need of help. In an interview with Fars news agency she said that 17 percent of the country’s population are in need of public service and under poverty line. Referring to the poor she added: ” A large number of women are head of households and not supported by any center or organizations”.

May be the Islamic regime in Iran should first think of the 10.3 million of its own populatoin before threatening Isreal, worrying about holocaust, making nuclear bomb and helping Hamas and Hezbollah !!

Phone interview with Delara’s attorney (in persian)- his picture below

source: Ch. One TV- Rahai Zan (woman’s freedom) program . Los Angeles USA
In an interview with an Iranian Satellite Television, Delara Darabi’s father stated that he is not only defending Delara’s rights but also defending justice and human rights. “I used to believe in judicial system here when I turned my daughter to authorities, but today I have no trust in this system.” Delara has asked her father not to attempt obtaining pardon or payment of retribution (blood money).. “You raised me for 17 years, do I look like a murderer?. I am not a murder.” Delara said. She told Mr.Darabi that he should first desert her as a duaghter before any attempt of seeking pardon becuase she is not guilty. Mr.Darabi said that Delara is a very sensitie girl but also has much pride.
He said that in his opinion the conditions in Rasht prison where Delara is being kept is not much different than Guatanamo
Bay. He added that his letters to prison authorities have been thrown back at him. The prison authorities are giving her 10’s of pills and not allowing all necessary medical tests on Delara to be done to find the reason for her illness, he added. He said the prison officials often have taken away her pen, paper and painting tools. He pleaded that Delara be moved to a different prison. He then burst in to tears and said they have made a monster out of my daughter . “Is this the Islamic justice?”
Abdolsamad Khoramshahi, Delara’s attorney reiterated that based on details of the case, such as Delara being left handed, she could not have been guilty of murder.
Delara has an older sister who is 1.5 years older who is studying architecture in college. Unlike Nazanin Fatehi who due to poverty had to stop her school at elementary level, Delara has high school education. English is typically the second language instructed in Iran and Iranian high school students have basic knowledge of English laguage.
