I too have been enjoying the wonderful news of Nazanin’s freedom yesterday. After months of efforts, it is very hard to explain my feelings( at least at this moment of time). This campaign went beyond anything that some of us had imagined and it would be unfair to attempt to summarize the magnitude, effects, potential and lessons of this MOVEMENT in few words. It’s positive effects were not only on Nazanin but on so many worldwide….

Couple of weeks ago when on my birthday, I heard the happy news of Nazanin’ court decision, Nazanin Afshin-Jam reminded me that there are no coincidences…….and yesterday shortly after hearing the wonderful news of Nazanin’s freedom I also heard the sad news of reaffirmation of the death sentence of a 20 year young Iranian girl, Delara Darabi who was alleged of murder at the age of 17.

Was this news not a coincidence, because the Islamic regime in Iran wanted to show its muscle by sentencing another young girl to death before letting Nazanin go under worldwide pressure? Is the monster going to please itself by instead sacrificing another youth at its alter of injustice?

Or was it that the evil regime didn’t want to see those who oppose its injustices to smile for long?

Or was this not a coincidence but a reminder to us that there are so many other Nazanin’s and minors who are suffering from similar injustice?

Unlike Nazanin petition who has nearly 350,000 signatures, Delara’s petition is only 798 signature strong and her sentence is imminenet as it is already approved by the supreme court in Iran.

Have you ever felt much pain and joy at the same time?

Nazanin had a very emotional reunion with her family members.
She could not believe that this day had arrived. She cried in her mothers arms and took turns embrassing her siblings and father.

After she finished greeting her family, Nazanin’s lawyer Mr. Mostafaei said that she told him that she now wants to go to school and study hard to get her life back. Soon after. Mr. Mostafaei got a phone call from some of Nazanin’s inmates saying that they missed her already.

While she could hardly and in tears of happiness , Nazanin said:

“The only thing I can say now is that I am extremely happy. It is as if I am born again.

I want to thank everyone who helped make my freedom possible and I want to say that I love you all from the bottom of my heart”
