I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every friend here for your commitment, your energy, your love, your perseverance and for believing that we could make this happen. There is no better present in the world for me than to see her smiling face and to read the beautiful messages that you have written to her. In the past 10 months of working on this campaign, I have been so energized by the compassion of regular people who have taken the time to try and save the life of a stranger thousands of kilometers away.

Some of you have said that I have inpired you to take on your own projects and campaigns and that you have seen just how strong the  power of the individual really is. Well I say to you, that YOU have inspired me. This has been an emotional rollercoaster, and on days when I felt sad and helpless, you picked me up with your words of support and encouragement.

Some of you have written poems, written songs and created paintings for Nazanin Fatehi. Some of you have gone door-to-door collecting petition signatures, and some of you have shared Nazanin’s story with your schools and held assemblies. Some of you have written to the Iranian officials to pressure them to commute her death sentence.Some of you have offered to sponsor Nazanin if she ever leaves Iran. You all had your unique ways of helping, and if it wasn’t for you we would not be seeing Nazanin Fatehi’s beautiful smile above.

I would like to give a special thank you to Mina Ahadi  in Germany who was  right there alongside me during this campaign. We were often up at 4am, on the phone, trying to figure out the next step to help Nazanin (minaahadi@aol.com)
