“The movie reflects the reality of what has been happening for 100’s of years and unless we break the “cycle”, these practices will continue on for the rest of time. “  Nazanin Afshin-Jam 

Sangsar (Stoning) is a 35 minute movie which reflects violations of women and young girl rights in many parts of the Middle East. THe story is not much different that what happend a month ago to a young Iraqi Kurdish girl who was stoned to death for being in love with a boy or story of Nazanin Fatehi who was sentenced to death for defending herself during a rape attempt.

We are like leaves on a tree . Some hold on longer than others but at the end we all fall off ….and meanwhile we each contribute our share to it, while it nourishes us in return…

Dear Homayoon , my childhood friend..I remember us when we were two fresh leaves under the sun and thinking of nothing but how we can reach it as we playfully laughed in the wind ..but as the branch that we each lived on grew away , we lost touch ..Javad today brought the news that you no longer are with us and have flown away…so soon?

I too am starting to feel the weight on my skin, as I look up at the sun and …feel the breeze and I know someday I may fly with a strong wind too…That day I am planning to ride the wind as long as I can , light, dancing and laughing …and who knows I may touch the sun while flying 

Meanwhile there are two fresh leaves that are growning by me which someday I will leave behind, I smile when I see them under the sun thinking of nothing but how to reach it as they playfully laugh in the wind ..
 
Dear Homayoon wherever you are in this cycle …I shall remember you while I am still here.
